Design & Development

The digital bricks and mortar

Functionality and aesthetics

Functionality and aesthetics are two sides of the same coin - you should always consider both when designing and developing a website.

If you want your website to serve your visitors to its potential, you should consider the following:

  • Aesthetics - how does the site look visually? Is it too cluttered? Too bare? Do the colours and styles clash?
  • Functionality - is the website easy to navigate? Can my visitors find what they need?
  • Responsivity - does the site respond well to different screen sizes or devices?
  • Accesibility - how accesible is the website to people with specific needs, like visual impairments?
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) - now that you've ticked all the above, you'll want customers to be able to find you using search engines.
